About NZAM

In 1991, we saw investors caught between the risks of the typical investment management approach and the lower returns of the bank. So we decided to provide a better way – one that aims to preserve the value of our clients’ hard-earned capital even when markets fall, and achieve returns that consistently outperform the bank. In the video, NZAM’s principals tell the story behind our “Absolute Return” investment approach, and why our clients find it an attractive alternative to the more typical relative return approach.

NZAM is a privately owned firm, originally owned by the founding principals. However, they recently sold a controlling interest in the company to Alvarium Investments (NZ) Limited, a subsidairy of LJ Partnership, to realise synergies and gain access to exclusive private equity deals.

Our Story: A Better Way

NZAM in the Community

As a passionate team of investment professionals with a commitment to protecting and growing client wealth, this ethos extends to the way we actively contribute back into our local community. We support a range of charities and decisions about which organisations to support is motivated either by individual staff interests, or collectively as a firm. Any investment decision is based on those organisations that we believe deliver a significant social return on our philanthropy.
